17 June 2009: Cup and Ring Marked Rock, Perth and Kinross
Perthshire Archaeology Month 2009 is the seventh annual celebration of archaeology in Perth and Kinross. It began as a week-long event in 2003 and has become widely known for providing opportunities to find expert guidance to the best archaeological sites and monuments in the area. The programme of events includes activities for all ages such as guided walks, re-enactments, excavations, exhibitions and talks.
RCAHMS are taking part in the celebrations this year. Archaeologist Steve Boyle will lead a guided walk to explore the abandoned farming settlements on the shores of Loch Tay and high on the slopes of Ben Lawers.
