We are open to the public for research and for use of our drawings, photographs and manuscripts. You are warmly encouraged to visit our public search room, where there is always someone on hand to provide assistance. The public search room is open Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 4.30pm at John Sinclair House, 16 Bernard Terrace, Edinburgh, EH8 9NX. |

This website gives information about the history and work of RCAHMS, the services we provide and details of current projects, exhibitions and publications. The website also allows users to access the database using Canmore by registering (free of charge). Information and images are added to the database on a daily basis. If your search has been unsuccessful, you can check with us in case we hold information that is not yet available online. |

This resource has been created as part of a Heritage Lottery Fund assisted project that aims to educate and inspire the public about their built environment. The project is also designed to offer guidance and suggestions on how the resources of RCAHMS can be used. The project has produced an exhibition that will be displayed around Scotland - find out more about this exhibition.
