New publication – Treasured Places, A Centenary

Bringing together a diverse range of meaningful and enchanting locations, from a construction photograph of the Forth Road Bridge to a survey drawing of the excavation of Skara Brae, this full-colour volume celebrates the results of an online public vote held by RCAHMS to find the nation’s most treasured place.

Complementing a major exhibition running until January 18 at Edinburgh’s City Art Centre, the book also contains an account of the fascinating history of RCAHMS by Head of Collections Lesley Ferguson, exploring the importance of recording the built environment and explaining its continuing relevance to the people of Scotland today.
