Friday 18 October

Join the Britain from Above team and the Edinburgh Sketcher in celebrating the Big Draw at RCAHMS. This full day workshop will gather inspiration from the Aerofilms collection of aerial photography, the RCAHMS collections of architectural and archaeological drawings, and the streets of Edinburgh's Southside to develop participants' observation and sketching skills. In the afternoon we will go out and about exploring the Southside of Edinburgh in the company of the Edinburgh Sketcher, illustrator, designer and blogger Mark Kirkham. While on foot taking in its historic sites and buildings participants will practice the art of sketching and pick up a few helpful tips on technique. This workshop is suitable for participants over the age of 16. As part of this workshop is outside participants are advised to dress suitably for the weather.
