Day of Archaeology

Interested in archaeology? On Friday 29 July 2011 RCAHMS will be opening its virtual doors by participating in 'Day of Archaeology', an online project organised to coincide with the Festival of British Archaeology. The event was set up to provide a glimpse into the daily lives of anyone working or volunteering in any aspect of archaeology around the world.

Throughout the day our staff will document what they do and show examples of their work in a number of different ways, including brief descriptions, photographs and videos. We will show the wide variety of projects undertaken by RCAHMS including field survey projects, aerial photography, education and outreach, and we’ll even find out what our Search Room visitors are working on.

Follow RCAHMS Day of Archaeology on the blog It's Not Just a Trowel, It's a Way of Life, Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #dayofarch.

More details about the project can be found on the Day of Archaeology website.
