Day of Archaeology 2012

Interested in archaeology? On Friday 29 June RCAHMS will be opening its virtual doors by participating in 'Day of Archaeology', an online project organised to coincide with the Festival of British Archaeology. The event was set up to provide a glimpse into the daily lives of anyone working or volunteering in any aspect of archaeology around the world.

Throughout the day staff at RCAHMS will be posting about their favourite archaeological sites in Scotland, explaining their choice and what it means to them. We’ll be involving staff from all parts of the office including field staff, survey and recording teams, aerial photographers, Historic Land-use Assessment and Britain from Above staff, and Skills for the Future trainees.

Follow RCAHMS Day of Archaeology on Hannah Smith’s blog It's Not Just a Trowel, It's a Way of Life and Twitter using the hashtag #dayofarch.

More details about the project can be found on the Day of Archaeology website.
