MyCanmore Improvements

MyCanmore enables you to share your images and information on Scotland’s places. We’ve already had over 20,000 images uploaded by the public and currently these are being displayed in Canmore but hosted in Flickr. The initiative has been a great success and the material contributed by users has built up into a significant and very welcome enhancement of our records - thank you to all those who have contributed.

Following consultation with MyCanmore users, we’re going to change the way that these images are hosted. Starting on Monday 23 April and finishing on Monday 30 April, we’ll be moving these images directly onto servers at RCAHMS. This requires some technical work and during this period you will not be able to upload new images.

Once complete, you won't see any difference in the upload procedure in Canmore, and the tools and processes that you use currently will remain the same. From this point on, all new images will be hosted directly by RCAHMS.

This will also enable us to post the best images from our collections on the RCAHMS photostream and share them with other Flickr users.
